As the most abundant alkali metal on Earth, sodium is gaining increasing attention as a sustainable alternative to rarer lithium. Recently, inCell Reports Physical Science, Mulvey and co-workers synthesized a series of sodium diphenylphosphides with Lewis base donors and demonstrated their use as efficient catalysts for hydrophosphination of alkynes.
