The utilization of multiple sinks is known as an effective approach to prolonging the network lifetime of wireless sensor network. In this paper, we propose several novel techniques for this approach. For artificial bee colony algorithm used for determining sinks' arrangements, a solution representation and energy-aware objective function are presented. Further, a data collection scheduling algorithm is presented. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques by computer simulation.
