The authors report on a 10-year-old with benign positional paroxysmal vertigo (BPPV) of the horizontal semicircular canal (HSC). To date, no case of BPPV of HSC in the child has been reported in the literature. The authors define the features of the disease, describe its evolution, and compare it with the other vestibular diseases affecting children. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd.
