MethodsSong and colleagues conducted a cross-sectional, observational study with 160 Korean older adults with HF. In the study, the authors examined the relationships between vitamin D intake, sleep quality and cognitive function. They also assessed whether poor sleep quality is a mediator of the association between lack of vitamin D intake and cognitive dysfunction in older adults with HF. Subjective measures were used to evaluate vitamin D intake/vitamin D deficiency (3-day food diary), sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) and cognitive function (the Korean version of the Mini-Mental State Examination). Hierarchical regressions and mediation analysis were used to examine the associations. 1
