We systematically investigate the magnetic and magnetocaloric (MCE) of Pr0.5Sr0.5-xNaxMnO3manganites. The Curie temperature (TC) and magnetic entropy change (-ΔSM) and relative cooling power (RCP) of the samples increase gradually with the Na content for 0 ​≤ ​x ​≤ ​0.2. A large -ΔSMof -2.20 ​J ​kg-1​K-1atTCunder the magnetic field change of 15 ​kOe is found for x ​= ​0.2, and the samples undergo second-order phase transition proved by the phenomenological universal curves. The Landau theory is used to analyze the origin of the -ΔSM, indicating the magnetoelastic couplings and electron interactions are account for the MCE. The large -ΔSMinduced by the low magnetic field, suggests these materials can be used for the practical applications.
