Conducting nanocomposites (NCs) based on thermosetting polymer matrices have attracted considerable scientific attention in the recent past due to unique combination of properties and wealth of prevalent applications. In particular, electrically conducting NCs represent a special class of structurally strong hybrid materials that can extend an attractive solution for mitigation of static charges or for providing shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI). This chapter begins with the basic introduction of EMI shielding, theoretical expressions, and experimental techniques for measurement of shielding effectiveness. In the next section, a comprehensive account of electrical and EMI shielding properties of thermosetting NCs is covered with special reference to those based on conducting additives like intrinsically conducting polymers and carbonaceous fillers like carbon nanotubes and graphene. Finally, prospects and challenges associated with the processing and applications of these NCs are discussed.
