The 10～30 days extended range forecast plays an important role in helping the development of weather business and the service for national economy.This study reviewed some related theories and knowledge about the extended range forecast,and introduced the operation status home and abroad.Combined the level of meteorology development,the research further analyzed and discussed some key technical problems with demanding prompt solution in the forecast operation,aiming at helping the development and investigation of the extended range forecast.
