addition of proCPUwhen batroxobin (noCPUactivation) was used to induce clotting, whereas a significant prolongation was seen when coagulation was induced by addition of CaCl2 (significant CPU activation). In conclusion, we provide firm evidence that proCPU is not able to prolong clot lysis in vitro and that the published study describing an antifibrinolytic effect of proCPU is compromised by in vitro activation of proCPU.
