The efficiency of a stationary magnetic field (vertical bar del B vertical bar = 200 mT/cm) in increasing the bioavailability of a doxorubicinmagnetite nanoparticle conjugate (diameter of 24 +/- 19nm) in the mouse lung was determined by pharmacokinetic investigation using electron spin resonance (ESR). The magnetic field was also found to inhibit the elimination of nanoparticles from the blood and increase the conjugate half-life and bioavailability in the blood. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V.
