Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) leads to restrictive cardiomyopathy, caused by the extracellular deposition of an abnormal protein product, amyloids, in the myocardium. Although the prevalence of CA is increasing, it was once considered a rare disease. 11C-Pittsburgh compound B (11C-PiB), a derivative of thioflavin T, is a specific and promising positron emission tomography (PET) tracer for the diagnosis of CA. 1–4 The present case highlights the potential utility of dynamic 11C-PiB PET for the examination of left ventricular function in CA.
