Specific heat of ZrTe3 was measured by the thermal relaxation method in the temperature range from 1.3K to 9K. The lattice contribution to the specific heat deviated from Debye-behavior near 5K, changing from T3 to T2.5. This behavior indicates the effects of lattice anisotropy. From the electronic contribution to the specific heat we estimated an electron density of states at the Fermi level of 0.67 states/(eV.spin.molecule). The specific heat anomaly at the supercon-ducting transition was not a jump, but gradual increase from the normal value. This supports a filamentary nature of the superconductivity in ZrTe3.
