The use of a set of partial ring pendula of equal radii as the basis for an interesting laboratory experiment is discussed. Sources of systematic errors are analyzed and theoretical calculations are presented for nonidealized partial rings. These calculations are found to be in good agreement with experimental results within measured uncertainties.
