Robinia stands are shown not to represent the association status, thus contradicting JURKOs proposal (JURKO 1963) to establish a separate class Robinietea. The term: Sambucus nigra-Robin ia pseudacaciasociety is proposed. This type can be subdivided into a West European, a Central European and an East European Vikariante.
