Objective: Despite improved outcomes for open repair of descending thoracic aneurysm (DTA) and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA), these operations remain challenging in octogenarians. Patients unsuitable for thoracic endovascular aortic repair require open surgery to avoid catastrophic rupture.
