Quadratic mean value theorems of automorphic-functions on the critical line are proved under very general conditions and several interesting examples are presented. In particular, we establish the expected upper bound for the quadratic mean of the automorphic-functions attached to Maass cusp forms on the critical line by a simple approach using only the functional equation.
