When the JH content of blood from European and Africanized worker honeybees was analysed, no significant differences were found between the two groups. The level of JH increased with age, with increases being greater and at an earlier age during a period of drought than during a period of plentiful pollen and moderate nectar flow. The results suggest that environmental conditions influenced JH levels in European and Africanized bees in a similar way.newline˜CENTREQUAD˜J.M. Gedye.
