To determine the separation properties of solid‐liquid‐liquid suspensions (emulsion‐slurries) in cake filtration, experiments were conducted with emulsion slurries containing sold particles and oil droplets in a liquid phase. Up to a certain volume fraction all oil droplets were retained by the formed filter cake and lower porosities were obtained. The dependency between cake resistance the porosity can be described by empirical approaches whose applicability could be extended to smaller porosities.
