Anti-selective asymmetric hydrogenation of α-amino-β-keto esters via dynamic kinetic resolution under low hydrogen pressure has been achieved by an easily-handled cationic iridium complex with tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate (BARF) as a counterion.
