The vegetation and climate response to tectonic uplifts is discussed through the study in palaeovegetation evolution and climate changes since 1.0Ma, based on pollen records from the core with 168m depth in Heqing basin. Obvious transitions of climate occured at 0.73MaBP and 0.42-0.365MaBP. The tree line response to the 16.5kaBP movement was not very clear, which might be related to a critical height of mountain uplift resulting in the form of stable vertical spectrum. At 13.2kaBP, the differential lift due to tectonic movement led to the capture of Heqing palaeolake.
