One of the most striking properties of RIs is that they lack a finite verb. In adult Dutch this option to use nonfinite clauses is far more restricted than it is in child Dutch. Before turning to the restricted examples of RIs in adult Dutch, we will now continue with some semantic properties of RIs in child Dutch.
