In the present article, we study the relationship of cotorsion pairs among three triangulated categories in a recollement. We show that if a triangulated category 𝒟 admits a recollement relative to triangulated categories 𝒟′ and 𝒟″, we can obtain cotorsion pairs in 𝒟 from cotorsion pairs in 𝒟′ and 𝒟″. On the other hand, we prove that certain cotorsion pairs in 𝒟 can induce cotorsion pairs in 𝒟′ and 𝒟″. Furthermore, we construct recollements of abelian categories from a recollement of triangulated categories.
