Editors Note: In the previous issue (no. 2/2011), we published an article by Saafo Roba Boye and Randi Kaarhus entitled "Competing Claims and Contested Bound aries: Legitimating Land Rights in Isiolo District, Northern Kenya" (http://hup.sub.uni hamburg.de/giga/afsp/article/view/463/461). We subsequently invited contributions for a debate on property and land rights and have decided to print in this issue two contributions debating certain aspects of that topic, along with a review article deal ing with the same general theme. Africa Spectrum would also heartily welcome further contributions on the subject for our next issues.
