Cordyceps species associated with ants of the genus Camponotus, and their relatives, are described. C. lloydii, an essentially neotropical fungus, is separated into 2 varieties and Asian records reported under this name are assigned to a new taxon, C. pseudolloydii sp. nov., C. unilateralis is a highly variable and ubiquitous, pantropical pathogen of Formicine ants. This variation is reflected in the number of potential anamorphs, including Desmidiospora myrmecophila and 2 new species of Hirsutella, H. sporodochialis and H. acerosa.
