The structures of di (acetone) tetrakis (# 3-3, 5-dinitro-benzoato-e: 20: t~ O') hexakis (#-3, 5-dinitrobenzoato-t~ O:-t~ O')-di-# n-oxo-di (pyridine) tetramanganese (II) dimanga-nese (III)-acetone-diethyl ether (1/2/2),(1), and tetra-kis (acetonitrile) tetrakis (# 3-benzoato-e: 20: ecO') hexakis-(#-benzoato-tcO: t~ O')-di-# 4-oxo-tetramanganese (II) di-manganese (Ill),(2), are reported. Both compounds con-tain six octahedrally coordinated Mn centres, arranged as two Mn~ IMn~ n (# 4-O) tetrahedra sharing the MnuI-MnII! edge.
