本文报道了一新种--长苞野牡丹Bredia changii W.Y. Zhao，X.H. Zhan & W.B.该属为中国江西省的一个新种。长叶野牡丹与野牡丹属的其他种的区别在于其细长的匍匐茎和顶生的单花（很少有两朵花），雄蕊的形状和长度几乎相等。该种与Bredia microphylla最相似，后者的区别在于叶2-3.5 × 1.7-3.2厘米，纸质，边缘明显齿状，雄蕊同形，药隔没有一短距。匍匐佛耳草的形态特征与常氏野牡丹相似，但其雄蕊与常氏野牡丹相似。匍匐茎明显是二型的。
A new species, Bredia changii W.Y. Zhao, X.H. Zhan & W.B. Liao (Melastomataceae) is described from Jiangxi Province, China. Bredia changii is distinguished from other species of Bredia by its slender, creeping stem and terminal, solitary flower (seldom two flowers) and stamens almost equal in shape and length. The species is most similar to Bredia microphylla, which differs from the latter by the leaves 2–3.5 × 1.7–3.2 cm, papery, the margin obviously toothed, and homomorphic stamens, the connective without a short spur. The morphological characters of Fordiophyton repens are also similar to Bredia changii , but the stamens of F. repens are obviously dimorphic.
