Public ownership makes possible a great extension of the part that workers can play in the running of the industries in which they are employed. At the same time, by removing the element of private profit and by making management responsible to the community instead of to private shareholders, public ownership should reduce sources of conflict and promote a better spirit within the industries concerned.
