It is clear from eq 6 that F2 and F2* become identical when Kn is zero, which corresponds to the case of a pure solute. In the treatment of reaction boundaries, involving concentration gradientsof both species, the estimation of Vz from the experimentally obtained F2* requires evaluation of the integral, Y. Analytical solu-tions to the integral for values of n from 2 to 6 inclusive are shown in Table I; solutions are also available for higher values of n. The integral may thus be evaluated for any specified set of values of n and Kn. To facilitate a generalized graphical representation of Y, it is convenient to introduce the parameters, the weight ratio of monomer to applied concentration, and Kn', the association constant on a weight scale, which are related to the previously defined quantities by eq 7 and 8; Mi is the molecular weight of monomer. o
