Measurements of weight were made on four sets of 25 skeletons, from American whites and negroes of each sex, of ages from 25 to 100 years and group mean ages from 60 to 66 years. Mean weights and standard deviations are presented for each group for skull, vertebral column, ribs and sternum, arms, legs, total skeleton and right and left femur. Most of the mean values for men were significantly higher than for women and for negroes significantly higher than for whites, with the main exception that female negro skulls were on average little lighter than male negro skulls. The skull formed a higher percentage of total skeleton in women than in men, and the limbs a higher percentage in men. I. McDonald.
