Materials and methodsSixteen trees each of two peach(Prunuspersica (L.) Batsch.) cultivars, Candor and Redhaven, were planted in May 1979, at 4.0* 6.0 m spacing in a Vineland fine sandy loam at Vineland Station, Ontario. The trees were planted in four rows, four per row, with two rows of buffer trees between cultivars. Each of the following treatments was assigned to a row: 1) Nemacur 3 G (fenamiphos), preplant application; 2) Nemacur, preplant application and trickle irrigation; 3) trickle irrigation alone, and 4) no treatment (control). Nemacur was applied in 2.5 m strips to the tree row at 12 kg/ha ai in 450 L of water. This was followed by disking approximately 10 cm deep.
