The subjects ingested 75 g of glucose with 500 mL of water, then blood was obtained at t= 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 mm and urine at t= 30, 60, 120, and 180 mm. Data derived from urine measurements(which are time-averages) were assigned to the middle of each collection interval. Pi and creatinine were measured with an American Monitor (Indianap-ohs, IN) Perspective analyzer-P1 by a molybdate method with a polyvinylpyrrolidine catalyst(method no. 293670-08) and creatinine by a mothfled Jaff#{233} method (method no. 292740-
