This award permits the principal investigator to give an invited plenary lecture at the next meeting of the International Federation for Information Processing, Working Group on Automation of Production Planning and Control. The meeting will be held in Budapest, in August 1985. He plans also to make a number of site visits, including the Hungarian Academy of Science, Vuoso Research Institute, German Democratic Republic Machine Tool Research Institute, Lucas Institute, The University of Aachen, and other research organizations.
