This action provides the first year's base support for the President Young Investigator Award FY 87. Dr. Fenves is chosen by the PYI Panel to conduct research on structural dynamics within the framework of earthquake engineering. The specific study to be conducted will be earthquake response analysis and design of concrete dams. The industrial matching portion of the award will be handled by a subsequent supplement award action.
