This project aims to equip Indigenous community-owned organisations with the practices needed to meet the goals of community development and organizational sustainability. The project aims to identify how to effectively combine Indigenous knowledges and culture and western management concepts, generating new knowledge about the distinctiveness of Indigenous organizations and extending theories of hybrid organizations. The project expects to provide an evidence-based framework that captures strategies for generating hybrid organizational practices. This should be of significant benefit to Indigenous community-owned organizations assisting them to deliver the services needed to close the gap on a range of economic, health and social measures.
