Teaching Modern Statistical Management Tools and Concepts in Undergraduate Statistics Courses

为工程、数学、统计学、经营学等专业的大学生教授统计学的50多名大学教员，正在进行为期一周的研修。讲习班介绍了主要公司为取得其在质量和生产力方面的世界竞争地位所使用的管理概念和统计工具。通过使用经过充分测试的案例研究，参与者获得了处理和解决现实世界问题的“动手”经验。如果美国在国内和国外都具有竞争力，课程参与者将能够把我们下一代工程师和管理人员所需的工具和概念带到他们自己的课堂教学中。参加者所在机构的费用由参加者前往工作坊的旅费分摊。

A one-week workshop is being presented to 50 college and university faculty who teach statistics to undergraduates majoring in engineering, mathematics, statistics, and business administration. The workshop is presenting the management concepts and statistical tools that are used by leading companies to achieve their world-wide competitive position in quality and productivity. Through the use of well-tested case studies, participants are receiving "hands-on" experience in addressing and solving real-world problems. Course participants will be able to bring to their own classroom teaching the tools and concepts needed by our next generation of engineers and managers, if the U.S. is be competitive both here and abroad. Participant's home institutions are cost sharing by the contribution of participant travel to the workshop.
