Special Graduate Student Education and Research Award

参加美国国家科学基金会1989-90财政年度少数族裔研究生奖学金竞赛的申请者，只要获得“荣誉称号”，并以计算机科学/工程专业研究生的身份在一所大学报读，就有资格向中国教育与科学研究院理事会申请研究生教育与研究特别奖。这些学生就读的11所大学将获得每所6,000美元的奖励，以帮助这些学生的教育和研究。学生们将从每个奖项中获得5000美元。这些奖项旨在为那些被认为有资格获得少数族裔研究生奖学金，但由于缺乏资金而无法获得奖学金的学生提供特别鼓励。

Applicants to the NSF fiscal year 1989-90 Minority Graduate Fellowship competition who were given "Honorable Mention", and who enrolled as graduate students in Computer Science/Engineering at a university, were eligible to apply to the CISE Directorate for a Special Graduate Student Education and Research Award. Eleven universities attended by these students are being provided awards of $6,000 each to assist the students with their education and research. The students will receive $5,000 of each award. These awards are designed to provide special encouragement to students who were judged worthy of a Minority Graduate Fellowship, but who, for lack of funds could not be awarded one.
