US China Symposium/Workshop on Recent Developments and Future Trends of Computational Mechanics in Structural Engineering (Beijing, China; September 24-28, 1991)

本次研讨会的主要目标是：1)强调结构工程中计算力学的知识和实践现状，并确定必要的前沿联合研究机会，以推进当前的知识状态；2)鼓励双方在共同需要和最重要的领域开展合作研究与开发；3)评估中国在计算结构力学方面的研究成果及其在美国的实际应用；4)继续在学术界和实践团体之间建立现有的长期双边科学关系。

The main objectives of the proposed Symposium/Workshop are: 1) to stress the current state of knowledge and practice in computational mechanics in structural engineering and to identify the frontal joint research opportunities necessary to advance the current state of knowledge; 2) to stimulate future cooperative research and development in the areas of common needs and greatest importance; 3) to evaluate the results of chinese research programs on computational structural mechanics and their practical applications in the U.S.; and 4) to continue to build the existing long-term bilateral scientific relationship between academic and practicing communities.
