Travel to Conference of South American Committee on Mass Movements

This is an award to support the travel of this landslide expert to the 1991 International Congress on Soil Mechanics in Santiago, Chile, on August 26-29, 1991. He will participate in a four-day workshop on landslides in residual soils convened by the South American Committee on Mass Movements (SCMM) to take place during the Congress. He also will participate in the executive council meeting of the SCMM in Bogota, Colombia, August 22-23, 1991. The purpose of this trip is to monitor the development in this field of research; to promote the exchange of knowledge and technology between South and North American countries; and to contribute to the activities of the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction.
