The International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) is composed of 44 National Members Organizations, each one representing the technical societies concerned with automatic control in its own country. IFAC sponsors many conference, but the most important is the triennial World Congress. The 12th such IFAC World Congress to be held July 19-23, l993 in Sydney, Australia, is organized around 15 broad areas and 6 mini-symposia. The conference will strengthen the connections between theory and applications by including papers who topic range from basic research to industrial and social applications. The funds are awarded to partially support travel of US researchers to attend the IFAC World Congress.
