Some Fundamental Problems in Nonlinear Fracture Mechanics

本工作的主要目的是分析表征韧性单晶中伴随裂纹扩展的应力场和变形场以及韧性材料与脆性材料连接界面上的变形场。分析结果将用全场数值有限元解和与分析相对应的实验进行验证。目的是设计局部描述，结合单晶塑性，作为一般远程加载的功能。

The principle objective of this work is to characterize analytically the stress and deformation fields accompanying crack growth in ductile single crystals and deformation fields at interfaces joining a ductile material to a brittle one. The analytical results will be checked with full-field numerical finite element solutions, and also with experiments that correspond to the analyses. The aim is to devise local descriptions, incorporating single crystal plasticity, as a function of general remote loadings.
