9312739 Ali This is an ward to provide support for the applicant's participation in the International Ceramic Congress on Research for Production, a conference to be held in Rimini, Italy from October 4-6, 1993. The applicant is the U.S. delegate to the International Standing Committee sponsoring organization and will chair sessions relating to Ceramics and the Environment: Problems and Solutions. He also plans on presenting a seminar on new materials at the International Center for Science & Technology and New Materials that is located in Trieste, Italy. The trip relates to his current work with the Hughes Aircraft Company on ceramics for environmentally safe applications, notably cell separators for batteries used in electrically powered vehicles.
