9316983 Dwoskin The Board on Natural Disasters, National Research Council, will provide information and advice to the National Science Foundation on natural disaster reduction issues of domestic and international importance by addressing crosscutting issues in the mitigation of the effect of natural extreme events such as hurricanes, earthquakes and floods; in the improvement of the recovery process; in determining research gaps and priorities; and in planning for the United States contribution to the activities of the International Decade for Natural disaster Reduction (IDNDR). The goal of these activities is to contribute to the federal efforts for improving public safety and enhancing buildings and structures survivability. ***
