9352954 Junkin Erskine College will offer a four week summer residential, Young Scholars program for 40 students entering grades 10 through 12. This interdisciplinary program will offer instructional activities in biotechnology and computer interfacing. Research experiences in robotics, physics, ecology and genetics will include a summer and an academic year project as well as laboratory work and field experiences. Career activities include site visits and presentations by industrial scientists from fields related to the projects disciplinary areas. Lectures on philosophy/ethics of science and an academic year follow up which includes high school presentations of research projects complete the program activities. ***
