National Academy of Sciences Title: Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (BASC) The National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council (NAS/NRC) will continue core activities of its Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (BASC) during the period August 1, 1995 through July 31, 1998. Core support for the Board is provided in two segments: (1) a climate research component coordinated through the Global Change Research Program of the Committee on Earth and Environmental Sciences, and (2) atmospheric sciences in all other respects, including Board oversight of both segment, through the National Science Foundation, on behalf of several federal agencies.
