This award is made under the high performance connections portion of NCRI's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 96-64. It provides partial support for two for two OC-3c ATM connections to the vBNS for two years. The institutions being connected are Merit, University of Michigan and Michigan State University. Applications include: * Digital Library Project * Upper Atmospheric Research Collaboratory * Spectral Analysis of Network Traffic * High-volume Simulations * Application of Computer Technology to Promote Collaborative Research Communities in K-12 * Multi-threaded Routing Toolkit These applications involve collaboration with the University of Illinois; the San Diego Supercomputer Center; Stanford University; University of California campuses at Berkeley, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles; University of Maryland; University of Alaska; and the University of Southern California, as well as several other institutions.
