9627980 Harrison This grant provides $98,352 as three years partial salary support for a technician to operate, maintain and provide user support for the UCLA 40- Ar/39-Ar geochronology laboratory in the Department of Earth & Space Sciences. This is a Phase I technician support grant under the EAR/IF program guidelines. Support of this position will allow continued assistance for the large number of outside users of this facility whose research encompasses a wide variety of investigations in active tectonics and geochronology including but not limited to, timing of deformation in extentional provinces, high-resolution thermal histories of young magmatic systems, the timing of batholith emplacement in the NE Caribbean and the compositional effects of Argon retentivity in amphiboles. ***
