Research Equipment Grant: Upgrade of the Materials Testing System

This award will improve the experimental facilities in the Materials Testing Laboratory of the University of Colorado Boulder. Specifically, the upgrade will enhance the capabilities of the 110-kip MTS materials testing system. Four equipment components: (1) a set of hydraulic tension-compression grips; (2( a set of digital controller; (3) an environmental chamber; and (4) a set of high precision extensometers that can be used in various temperature and humidity ranges will be purchased. The equipment will improve significantly the quality of future experimental research activities conducted in the laboratory.
