A Research Workshop on Object Modeling and Exchange in the Construction Industry

The workshop organizers plan to get experts from different object technology applications fields together to attempt to coalesce a view and direction for object technologies in the construction industry. The workshop will bring together both university and other researchers who have been involved in the key research in the field and also key members of the AEC software development community. The workshop would be organized around a set of major issues, which will be reviewed in depth. The outcome of the work would be a report identifying key issues and recommendations for future development and coordination regarding software development, standards efforts, research for Information Technology supporting the AEC area. It will attempt to mark out both areas which appear fruitful and those to be avoided.
