9877036AskewThis award to Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Florida will provide equipment in support of oceanographic research on three research vessels (R/V Johnson, Link and Sea Diver), operated by the institute and in cooperation with the University of Miami for technical support as part of the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System research fleet. Specific equipment to be acquired includes a boat to support diving operations, a gyroscope, four air tuggers, a portable winch and two instrumented blocks for overside operations; it will also support the overhaul of an installed winch. The shared-use equipment supported here will assist marine scientists conduct studies from the HBOI research vessels, particularly in the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean region, during 1999 and future years. ***
