An International Workshop on Perceptual Organization in Computer Vision: Assessing the State of the Community and Charting New Research Directions

[摘要]中山州立大学学报（工学版）-9910601；计算机视觉中的感知组织国际研讨会：评估社区状态和绘制新的研究方向这是一个标准的研讨会奖。感知组织可以被定义为对图像中的感觉数据施加结构规则的能力，从而将来自共同潜在原因的感觉原语分组。从感官输入中提取意义是一个智能过程。感知组织在人类视觉领域的研究由来已久，由于其重要的潜力，也开始引起计算机视觉研究界越来越多的关注。本次研讨会将为来自计算机视觉和人类视觉社区的研究人员提供一个有价值的论坛，以评估当前的技术状况，确定基本研究问题，并讨论计算机视觉感知组织中有希望的新研究方向。该研讨会将与1999年在希腊Kerkyra举行的IEEE计算机视觉国际会议同时举行。

Perceptual organization can be defined as the ability to impose structural regularity on sensory data in an image, so as to group sensory primitives arising from a common underlying cause. Such extraction of meaning from sensory input is an intelligent process. Perceptual organization has long been studied by researchers in human vision and has begun to draw increasing attention in the computer vision research community because of its important potential. This workshop will provide a valuable forum for researchers from both computer vision and human vision communities to assess the state of the art, identify basic research issues, and discuss promising new research directions in perceptual organization for computer vision. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the 1999 IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision to be held in Kerkyra, Greece.
