英文摘要
Dawn Tilbury, University of Michigan0075426Workshop on Logic Control for Manufacturing SystemsDiscrete part manufacturing systems typically consist of numerous machinesworking together in a coordinated and sequential fashion. Programmablelogic controllers are widely used to implement the control algorithms forthese machines. Systems with hundreds or thousands of inputs and outputs, many of them simple on/off switches, are not uncommon. The logiccontroller must handle not only the normal operation sequence andsynchronization of the machines, but also the operator interface and errorhandling and recovery routines. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together participants fromindustry and academia to create an understanding of the gaps which existbetween the theory of discrete-event systems and control and theirimplementation in industrial manufacturing systems. The focus will be oncoordination and sequencing problems, complexity management, error handlingand recovery, automatic generation of executable code, and controlverification.
